Hospitals will face fines if they fail to end the ‘indignity’ of mixed-sex wards, it was revealed by Health Secretary
Andrew Lansley yesterday.
He said hospitals in England will be required to place all patients in single-sex wards – with any breaches made public and financial penalties imposed.
