Andrew Lansley has made it clear he has no intention of resigning as health secretary to help push through the government’s controversial NHS reforms.
The Health and Social Care Bill has faced strong opposition from many health professionals and the Labour Party, and the coalition has already been forced to accept scores of amendments to the proposed legislation.
Mr Lansley has started to come under fire from fellow Tories and Tim Montgomerie , editor of the grassroots ConservativeHome website, today called for the government to abandon the Bill.
